UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMS

  1. Bachelor of Science in Nursing
  2. The Archbishop Anthony Mayala School of Nursing offers the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSc. N) under the following categories:
    1. A 4-year program for those who are direct form six leavers.
    2. A 3-year program for those with diploma in Nursing
    Entry Requirements for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (4 year program)
    A Holder of form six certificate with TWO advanced level passes at “D” grade or above inCHEMISTRY, BIOLOGY or PHYSICS in that order of preference (i.e: minimum of D, D = 4points from two subjects). For those who finished “A” Level in 2014 and 2015 (minimum ofC, C = 4 points from two subjects) Entry Requirements for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (3 year program) A Holder of Diploma in Nursing as recognized by NACTEwith a B+ average grade in the Diploma and at least TWO years working experience. More preference will be given for those who have attempted A level.
  3. Bachelor of Science in Nursing Education
  4. The Archbishop Anthony Mayala School of Nursing offers the Bachelor of Science in NursingEducation (B.Sc. NED) under the following categories: o A 2- year programme for those with Advanced Diploma in Nursing Education o A 3- year Programme for those with Diploma in Nursing o A 4- year programme for those who are direct form six leavers. Entry Requirements for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing Education (2 year program) Equivalent Qualification: Holder of Advanced Diploma in Nursing Education as recognized by NACTE with a B average grade at Advanced Diploma. More preference will be given for those who have attempted A level. Entry Requirements for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing Education (3 year program) Equivalent Qualification: Equivalent Qualifications: Holders of Diploma in Nursing as recognized by NACTE with a B+ average grade in the Diploma. More preference will be given for those who have attempted A level. Entry Requirements for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing Education (4 year program) Holder of form-six certificate with THREE Advanced level passes in Physics, Chemistry and Biology; at least TWO passes at “D” or higher [Minimum of 4 points (D + D = 4 points) from two subjects]. For those who finished “A” Level in 2014 and 2015 [minimum of 4 points (C + C = 4 points) from two subjects]

POSTGRADUATE PROGRAMS

Master of Science in Nursing
  1. A GPA of at least 2.7 in Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSc.N), Bachelor of Science in Nursing Education (BSc.NE), Bachelor of Science in Mental Health Nursing (BSc.M), Bachelor of Science in Midwifery (BSc.Mid) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing Management from a recognized university.
  2. Graduates from the other recognized universities with at least GPA of 2.7 in their first degrees mentioned above are eligible for selection when they have fulfilled the following criteria specified under item iii and iv below
  3. Graduates mentioned in item i. above should have a minimum of 2 years work experience
  4. Graduates should have a valid license to practice as registered nurses and midwives with the Tanzania Nursing and Midwifery Council (TNMC) before their enrollment to the program
