Dr. Neema M. Kayange (MD, MMed, MSc)
Pediatrician and clinical epidemiologist
Neema Kayange is a pediatrician and Clinical epidemiologist working at Bugando Medical Centre and Catholic University of Health and Allied Sciences as a senior lecturer in the pediatric department of above sister institutions.
She holds a master’s degrees pediatric and child health and in clinical epidemiology and health services research from Catholic University of Health-Bugando and Weill Cornell Medical college USA. She also completed Global infectious disease courses from St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in USA. Dr. Kayange has been working for over 13 years now in renal diseases and Infectious diseases field, focusing on quality improvement projects, Tropical neglected diseases such as Schistosomiasis and viral infections particularly arbovirus infections with 43 publications in peer review journals.
Since 2016 up to date, Neema has been working on project of mosquito borne pathogens surveillance in Lake victoria region in Mwanza - Tanzania, aiming on establishment of a reliable and efficient diagnostic methods, as well as improve awareness for febrile infections and an increased knowledge of the Arbovirus epidemiology pediatric population in Tanzania.
