The department of Pathology at CUHAS is dedicated to teaching concepts and understanding of pathology to both the undergraduate and postgraduate students, provide patients care at the hospital and conduct research that are translational to the local medical needs.

   Dr EriusTebuka hold a master of medicine degree in hematology from Muhimbili University of health and allied sciences. He deals with both laboratory and clinical hematology at the university and hospital levels. Dr EriusTebuka received his medical degree from CUHAS (then under St Augustine University) in 2010 and then registered as a medical practional in 2012.
He is interested with hematological malignancies specifically chronic myeloid leukemia and its causes for primary resistance to Tyrosine Kinase inhibitors among CML patients. Currently Dr Tebuka is a lecturer and head of department of pathology and is responsible for mentoring both undergraduate and postgraduate students at CUHAS

  Peter Rambau after completion of his MD course joined CUHAS formally called Bugando University College of Health Sciences (BUCHS) as a tutorial assistant in the department of Pathology. He pursued his Master of Medicine at Makerere University with award of M.Med pathology under the sponsorship of BUCHS. At current he is a PhD student in collaboration with University of Calgary. His thesis is focusing on ovarian cancer in Tanzania which is understudied area, as well as ovarian cancer in North America focusing on diagnostic and prognostic biomarkers. This will give a picture of the distribution of ovarian cancer types in Tanzania, and with application of molecular markers, the reproducibility and biomarker expression of ovarian cancer in Tanzania will be compared to patients with ovarian cancer in North America. This will give an insight into the common types of ovarian cancer in Tanzania which will help in allocating the resource which are scares in Tanzania. His main interest is teaching, research and diagnostic histopathology with special interest in Gynaecological pathology. Peter Rambau is a former of head of department for more than ten years and currently serves as a director of quality assurance at CUHAS.

   Cosmas Henry Mbulwa is a member of faculty in the department of pathology since February 2017.He graduated from CUHAS with a medical degree, upon completion of his internship, Cosmas worked in the department of Pathology gaining experience before pursuing his master of Medicine in Morbid pathology at Makerere University in Uganda. He interested in gynepathology and looks to develop his PhD thesis in that area.

  Edrick Elias hold a Medical Doctor degree of Catholic University of Health and Allied Sciences (CUHAS, 2015).
He did his internship at St Francis Referral Hospital-Morogoro. Currently he is undertaking master of medicine in anatomical pathology at Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences (MUHAS) with expectation to complete in 2020.
He is a junior faculty member, ambitious and keen to develop in academic and research of his carrier.
