The three year Diploma Program of Medical Laboratory Sciences offers a dynamic curriculum that is based on the current needs of knowledge, skills and competencies; it is recognized by Tanzania Commission of Universities (TCU) and The Medical Laboratory Council of Tanzania.
Students who successfully complete the Program of Diploma of Medical Laboratory Sciences are conferred the Diploma of Medical Laboratory Sciences by Catholic University of Health and Allied Sciences (CUHAS)
The successful graduates will also be required to be registered with the Medical Laboratory Council of Tanzania so as to enable to practice as Laboratory Technicians within The United Republic of Tanzania (Mainland) Medical Laboratory Technicians are part and parcel of health care team. The program prepares Medical Laboratory Technician to work collaboratively with other registered Lab. officers and other inter-professional health care team within their scope of practice. Students learn skills using knowledge from the supervised rotations in multidisciplinary Clinical Laboratory at Bugando Medical Center, a tertiary Referral and Consultant Hospital, which is located within the same area with the college. Program courses include Basic Sciences, Microbiology, Clinical Chemistry, Parasitology, Haematology, Blood transfusion, Morbid anatomy and Histopathology and Entomology. The Program also offers inspiring opportunity to senior students to conduct fieldwork in various Regional and Consultant hospitals around Tanzania Mainland,
